Ask Your Doctor
Before Seeing Your Doctor

To get the most out of your doctor visit, be prepared. Most doctors are very busy, so to make the most of your time together, think about the questions you have, and the information your doctor may need from you in advance.

Whether this is your first visit or a regular checkup, be ready to discuss your nasal allergies and overall health. For example, make a list of the nasal allergy symptoms you're experiencing and what triggers them (if you know), the types and dosages of prescription and over-the-counter medicines you take for your nasal allergies and other conditions, and any changes to your medical history since your last visit.

Questions to ask about your allergies

1. What substances (allergens) are causing my allergy symptoms?
2. How can I avoid or reduce allergen exposure?
3. What are the signs that my symptoms are worsening?
4. Is there any risk in not treating allergy symptoms?
5. How can I help prevent my nasal allergy symptoms from getting worse as allergy season progresses?
